NORTHANTS A made a winning start to their defence of the English Bowling Federation’s Derbyshire Trophy with a comprehensive 116-62 victory over their B team at Peterborough & District.
Despite the larger margin of victory, Northants A were denied the maximum points by the rink of Mike Anderson, Tien Ngo and Neil Wright, so had to be content with a 12-2 success.
The other three A team rinks were convincing winners, team captain Simon Law’s winning 38-10, Ben Wilson storming home 34-17 and Adam Warrington’s 26-13.
