President’s team win Dickenson Shield

IN ITS annual match against Whittlesey Manor for the John Dickenson Shield, a Northants Federation President’s team just edged out their hosts by six shots.

The 99-105 scoreline over 21 ends and six rinks of 2-bowl triples reflected the closeness of a match played in warm sunshine.

Steve Roden, Pete Brown and his son Zac took the individual honours for the home team 23-13, while with an identical score, the veteran trio of Les Sharp, Northants President Tony Mace and Malcolm Squires were the president’s top scorers.

The trophy was presented by Mr Dickenson’s widow Mary.
