PETERBOROUGH & District bowlers lifted the Adams Cup with a comfortable 64-42 defeat of City of Peterborough A at Parkway Bowls Club.
The rinks of Alec Emery (with Dave Corney and Cliff Watson) and Brian Bassam (with Colin Teat and Steve Johnson) built up early advantages which meant that Peterborough & District were never under any real pressure.
Emery’s trio defeated Graham Jackson (with Derek Briers and Peter Leaton) 22-9 while Bassam carded a 26-17 victory against Bryan Bolam (with Dave Eddings and Dave Allen).
The other rink finished all square at 16-16, with the rink of Mick Greaves (with Jeff Clipston and Joe Martin) scoring a double on the last end to deny Dudley Smith (with Peter Afford and Colin Lake) a consolation win for City of Peterborough.
